Their Words

"…having another name also means having new ideas and new objectives than the ones we had before." Miguel

"We were looking for a word that would define us as friends, because that is what has united us even before being in the group: friendship, and we thought a circle was a geometric figure where everything could be kept: feelings, music, because at the end everything is a circle." Jaime

"As Ragazzi, we had a certain duration, and whenever we got a beard we were going to look very ridiculous dancing on a stage, so we saw a new way to keep together, and that was precisely El Circulo, here it does not matter how we look, but how we really are." Miguel

"We had to let go all that  we were; forget it all, and open our wings but that does not mean that what we do now is perfect. We could still make mistakes, there might be things that we are not going to like, but it is a new way in order to get to our goals." Marlon

Some years ago these four musicians presented choreographies, sang songs not made by them (Well, they did sang some of their songs in the Veneno Album!), played musical instruments and also had the sufficient success to keep doing the same, but their priorities changed. Former Ragazzi Members, Jaime, Marlon, Miguel and Pato formed El Circulo in 1997. After Ragazzi’s decision to separate from their management, they had to say good-bye to Ragazzi as well, that is, they could no longer name themselves Ragazzi because their management also owned their name. But their name was not the only thing they lost, they also lost one of the band’s members, David, because he wanted to pursue a solo career! After the Good-Bye Tour, which finished in December of 1997, they dedicated almost 2 years to work on their new more personal concept, and on their new album now as El Circulo.

El Circulo’s anticipated debut album, Murio el Silencio (The Silence died!) under the management of Tribu Producciones and under Sony as their record label was finally released in early 1999. Many said that they were the typical pop band that wanted to become another rock band, but their album as El Circulo with them as composers proved that they were no just a boy-band but a renovated rock band that had a lot to offer to the public. (It is necessary to mention that they were never the typical pop stars, who usually do not possess a bit of talent, mainly because they were multitalented and because the were already making their own music and lyrics!).

In 2001 El Circulo released their second Album, Sabroso under the production of former Caifan Alejandro Marcovich, which included a remake of the famous song El Sirenito. Sadly, they decided to bring to an end everything that El Circulo entailed in May of 2002 (a year after releasing Sabroso). They have said that their personal and professional priorities had changed and that every one wanted to go their own way to pursue their personal dreams. Yet their friendship is and would always stay unbroken, hopefully they will reconsider and take into account how much people love them and love their music, and how much people miss them, and get together again and keep performing as the best Mexican rock band ever! Just as a circle has no beginning and no end, El Circulo would never have and end in the history of music and in the hearts of all their followers!
